This was all Tracy's idea...what could we three cancer ladies do to celebrate our birthdays together???? We drove out to Eagles park with two kayaks on top of the Wanek mobile and another one inside, and we put in at the little beach there. We kayaked across the side channel, and then took a break on the sandbar (we were probably breaking before Jarret had even gotten back to the car). We kayaked for 7 or 8 hours to get back to the Meriwether's boat dock. It wouldn't take a normal person that long to go that distance. But it was our birthdays, bitches!! Many breaks and much leisure later, we had a lovely late lunch on another sandbar. This one had a green bucket on it. We called it Green Bucket Island. Clever. Spring rolls and veggies and sort of gluten free birthday cake and what else? Ah yes, plenty to drink... The sky was overcast and a little ominous looking for the first half of the day. It must have scared away the boaters, because there was almost no boat traffic on the river, which is SO GOOD when you are kayaking!! Achala made a good save when her giant hat almost floated away. The water felt so amazing and everything was beautiful!
